The Heart Behind the Brand
Hi, I’m Brian Connor , and welcome to CLRMND—where fashion meets healing, and style starts with self-love. Before this was a clothing line, it was just me—a openly gay black male trying to find his place, his peace, and his power. For years, I struggled with insecurity, self-doubt, and the pressure to be what others expected. I was constantly searching for love and validation in other people, thinking that if I looked perfect or dressed the part, I could hide the pain I carried inside. But no outfit could cover what I hadn’t yet addressed: the relationship I had with myself. It wasn’t until I hit a personal low—feeling lost, disconnected, and emotionally exhausted—that I realized something had to change. That’s when I started my healing journey. I began choosing myself in small ways: speaking kinder words to myself, showing up even when I didn’t feel “enough,” and slowly, intentionally, learning how to love me for me. And in that process, something beautiful started to form—an idea that clothing could be more than just fabric. It could be a message. A mirror. A reminder. A movement.
How It Started
From Passion to Purpose
I started small. One design. One message. One shirt I made on my bedroom floor with an iron-on patch and a shaky hand. I didn’t have all the answers—but I had a story, and I knew I wasn’t alone in it.
From there, CLRMND was born.
I began learning everything I could—graphic design, garment sourcing, sustainable fabric choices, marketing, and business development. Every step came with lessons, setbacks, and growth. What kept me going was the why behind it all: creating something that helps people feel powerful in their own skin.
This brand became more than clothing. It became a platform for healing, for connection, and for truth.
